2015 F250 Tailgate

I notice that the tailgate on my new SD is amazingly easy to open and close and seems like it is really light. There is some line item on my build sheet about "tailgate assist" or some such wording. i can't see anything special about it other than the weight. is this aluminum or just really chintzy?

The driver's side hinge is spring loaded, which is why it feels so light. Take the tailgate off...it's not any lighter that the old ones, in fact, I think it's actually heavier.

cool. i was hoping it wasn't as light as it feels. it makes a huge difference for sure.
