2001 F250 CC 4x4 V10 Auto with 4.10's question
I'm looking at buying a 01, 250, 4x4, auto with 4.10's running 295/75/16's. My driving is mostly in town with a 2 - 3 time / week commute in moderate hills at approx 35 - 45 mph for 20ish miles. I will also use is for road trips (3 times / year) from Central Ca to Portland Or. Also towing a dump trailer short distances 3 - 4 times / year. I was wanting 3.73's for better mpg but my calculations show me only a 180rpm difference between the two when calculating the tire diameter at 32" and final drive ratio at .71.
Any input appreciated. Thanks

4.10s sound like a nice compromise on gears for towing and commuting. Several members here mention the 4.30's or equivalent being a major difference for truck characteristics. Think about how much weight your pushing with just the truck and how it becomes a bit easier.
Any pictures of the truck your looking at? Service records?
