so new motor new intake , rear passenger side decides to leak when roughly about 10 degrese or lower and being -13 yesterday and-18 this morning.
last year it did this n i put a nother hose clamp on that rear tube and just happened to stop . n now back but the ting is that its not wet at all at the hose but at top of head bottom intake hmm . this is all just during the initial start of truck stops even before truck really gets warm
if i tke it off n its messed up i hope its warrentied even though i painted it. if fine i guess add some gasket maker ?
Leak got worst this winter so finally took intake off , found where it was leaking , got new gaskets n added gasket maker n so far no more leaks! Fore some reason wife didn't think a super charge was a great idea since intake was off
I just replaced my intake manifold (was leaking under the t-stat) and I am now leaking in the back somewhere, I think drivers side.
I also did not get an o-ring for the PCV connector, so I have an air leak. I contacted Rock Auto and they said they could ship me another one and swap it out.
Not wanting to, but since it is leaking, no real choice. I don't want to take the new one off and figure out why it is leaking. I just will replace it with another new one (and waste another 4-6 hours).
I'm thinking sleeves where the bolts run through we're not flush causing a bad seal. N the built in O ring gaskets r not my fav . If I were to geta new intake I would get stock . Not sure there's anything better with dorman
The Dorman fixes the weak part in the T-stat area that always cracks/leaks on the OEM manifold.
I never looked closely at the Dorman manifold when I installed it. I made sure the engine side was clean, but no idea if the manifold was clean and level.
