Exhaust fumes in the cab

Exhaust fumes in the cab
I recently had my 2015 F250 in the shop for its first service.
I picked it up that afternoon but never really drove it much until I got home 2 days later from nightshifts.
The wife decided to fire it up in the AM to take our son to school....when she went back outside she noticed a diesel exhaust odor immediately, some thing this truck has never smelled like before....4800 miles on er by the way.
I thought maybe just the cooler temps may have had an effect on it, I dunno for sure, am new to diesels
Once home, I took it for a spin and I could hardly stand being in the cab...I mean WOW,it was brutal....of course the dealership service dept. was closed.
Doing what any proper ford guy would do, I came here to FTE and started my search.
I came across a few possible things to look for. Being that the weather had dropped to -24 Celsius overnight last night I was limited in what I could look at...
I crawled under it to check out the exhaust system thinking maybe something came loose or?????.....there was also a post about a little metal pressure tube that has a nut that seems to back itself off.
I look up but I cannot see this tube and the rest of the exhaust sytem appears to be fine......under the hood I go.
I was thinking that maybe the service guy knocked something off up top or god only knows.....anyway, I crack the hood and the first thing I see is the darn oil cap sitting on top of the rad support...not a happy guy to say the least.
I put the cap on and low and behold, problem solved, no fumes or anything anymore....
Sorry for the long winded post, but I thought I would post this just in case somebody else has a similar issue with fumes in the cab and maybe giving you a quick place to start your search

Yup, one of the only TWO times I let someone else do an oil change on my truck when I couldn't look over the guys shoulder, and he left the cap off and I drove off down the interstate. By the time I noticed there was oil all over the place around the fill tube under the hood. It never smelled like diesel exhaust fumes, just burnt oil smell. I never did get back around to that dealer so I had to clean it up myself.
Lesson learned I guess...
