Spicer 5 speed?

Spicer 5 speed?
Wondering if a spicer 5 speed out of an International bus with a 7.3 would work in a pickup, if the housing SAE# is the same. pretty sure its SAE#2.
Would be an interesting swap that i want to do and have access to a spicer. thanks!

If you get the block to #2 bell adapter then yea it will bolt up.I'm not sure how well it will fit and a dp will be murder to fit and sae usually mount on two side ears for the rear rather than single rear. It can be done and I had one in my 64 project truck but its a very large undertaking.

That bell housing is large and very deep!
You will for sure be cutting the butt hole out of the cab and fire wall.tunneling for dp or....hood stack!!!!! Oh...yea!
And if you are 4wd...a divorced transfer case...shifter will be in the bed and front drive shaft 15' long lol

i would stick with the ZF.
that spicer trans is HUGE. i bet 25% or more of it will be sticking out of the floor inside the cab. after you cut half the floor out of the truck.

How does that Spicer 5 speed physically compare to a 613?
I have talked with several guys that have done the 613 and said it was not too bad at all and they love the trans.

Thanks for the input guys! Ill be sticking with the ZF swap for now. maybe if i have a year or so to do it without needing the truck and the time to i might attempt it. itd be pretty cool though!
