The real key to MIG is the welder setup. I know when I was learning that fighting the settings AND trying to troubleshoot my welds was like nailing Jello to a tree.
Once you get that 'bacon sound', then you can work on technique. The Miller with the auto-set feature really helps (but at a price)
Best Option? Take a class or find an experienced welder to help you out. Once you experience the right sound and understand the interactions and process, it's downhill from there.
