What PSI should i run i would like to make these tires last as long as possible i just purchased 6 brand new 235/85/16s LTs and i was wondering how much PSI to keep in them just riding around empty without pulling or hauling anything
Side walls says 80 max psi
Anything under 65psi in my fronts it quickly starts to wear the inside and outside edges of the tires like they're under inflated or overloaded, and since I can't put the 7.3 on a diet I just bump up the pressure.
And don't forget guys, he said 6 tires so we're talking about a dually here.
I've never been able to run lower than 65 PSI in the front without bulging - and crazy wear. Stinky is 4WD, though.
Draw chalk across the face of the tire and drive a short distance. Too much air rubs the center off, too little rubs the outer edges off. Shoot for even chalk wear.
X3 on the chalk. Depending on seasonal temps 72-76 on the front and 48-54 on the DRW. Otherwise, like they are saying, if any lower on the fronts they will wear prematurely on the edges and any higher on the rears, they will wear in the center. Got 82k on the last LTX MS2's. If you are hauling heavy you may need to bump the rear up 10-15lbs or so. It is a pain if they do not align the valves to the holes when they change the tires.
Can the front tires/wheels be rotated (front to rear criss-cross) to the outers on the back of my dually?
My 2015 Platinum has steel on the rear insides and aluminum on the other four.

I don't think they are the same wheel. Even if they would swap they would look like hell, there's no cleaning the inside of my wheels, 14 years of road grime.
I don't believe they can be without dismounting the tires. I have a similar issue. If you have one in your area, Discount Tire does the rotation for no extra charge most of the time. Additionally, since they want your future business, they do this even if your tires were not purchased from them originally.
Mine is a 2015, so the aluminum wheels probably aren't black on the inside yet. If the only reason not to rotate is because the aluminum isn't polished on the inside, then I don't care about that. I'll run them backwards in the winter when they are covered with road grime. As long as they are the same color (swap fronts with outside rears) I won't care. I don't have any rear hub caps (since they keep falling off)...so how much worse can it be?
