Timing

Question to the 351 crowd. What is the base timing (degrees BTDC for the 351M engine? Need to know, so I can ensure timing is correct on my Bronco.

Hi, I sort of remember that back in the early-mid 70's the 351M was something like 20 degrees. But, don't quote me on that.

78, if it's a manual NP435, the initial timing is 6 degrees btdc.

Timing

You'd do MUCH better making the final setting with a vacuum gauge. That will compensate for any engine wear or modifications, but always start at stock.
