its been awhile since I have been on here, I have been super busy with the new baby and trying to get my new shop finished out so my dad and I can moves our cars into it for winter maintenance.
Gary It's 40x60, the wood frame walls are for a storage, office and bathroom. There will be also be storage above that. We bought a 4 post lift for this shop I guess we will see how it works out in the next couple months. The over head doors are not in yet but I'm making progress on the plumbing and electrical. I still have a couple months worth of work to do.
I used to think I wanted a 4-post lift, but after using my 2-post I'm happy with it. As for storage, what kind of flooring will go on top of the rooms? I used basically 1" flooring on 2x12" joists and love it.
The only reason I have a lift is cause I got a heck of a buy on this one. People needed money and they had never even set it up so it's brand new. I used 12" TJI's (i joist) for jousts and 3/4 flooring. I went 3/4 cause if it's that heavy I will store it downstairs. The furnaces will also sit on top and blow out into the main shop. The office will get a window unit for a/c. At least I will be able to build motors in the a/c.
Yea the lift was on one of my trailers and I needed to get it off so I just put it together. It's accually on casters and needs to be moved into its final position. Unfortunately no overhead doors yet they are due in early next week. Interior doors will be here this week and I should be sheet rocking the office and bath next weekend. During the week I hope to get some electrical conduit ran so I can start pulling wire.
I finally got all the major parts of the shop done this last week except for the septic. finished up permeate power, water and gas. I get to work on the cars now instead of the shop.
yep Ron I have already spent a lot of time there just building the place. now that we got room I have lots of projects lined to take away just about any spare time I have.
