Disk brake HELP!!

I have a 49 f1 that my grandparents went on their first date in. They have since passed the truck onto me and I'm getting everything together to get it running. I'm gonna leave the I beam up front but I have ordered the disk brake kit from speedway. I need help with a booster. I have done a little research and I think the s10 7 inch booster will work in the truck. Have any of yall done this conversion that can help me with a boaster set up. If so that would be great. Thank you!

This is what was put on mine. It is a direct bolt in and uses the existing pedal and linkage.

you're best bet is to check the aftermarket suppliers for the master/booster assemblies. Good luck.

The booster and master cylinder bore size needs to be matched to the wheel cylinder size, a proportioning valve and residual valves may be required if mixing drum and disk brakes to work properly. Unless you have a lot of engineering background/experience I would highly recommend going with a kit designed for the vehicle rather than cobbling together junkyard parts. Brakes are way too critical to the safe operation of the vehicle to take a chance with cutting corners.

Welcome to the forum. I have to agree with the others in that your best option would be to call Speedway back and get the rest of the brake kit that all works together with what you have already. Be safe and enjoy your truck for a long time.

I also used the disc brake kit from Speedway. For the booster and master cylinder I used Speedway's combo for disc/drum brakes. Works great!

Speedway, Carolina Classics, Classic Haulers, etc. all get there disk conversion kits and booster kits from MPM Brakes through their private label program. MPM supplies a generic GM disk/disk master cylinder 1.125" bore mated to a 7" booster and the small welded bracket I posted in the link above. They repop other stuff like proportioning valves, suspension parts, etc. These are the same kits you see on eBay and Amazon.
