I am having an issue with the truck stalling in first gear. I have located the vacuum lines running from the rear of the manifold to the tranny (AT C4). One of the lines is pulled with a bolt from the PO and I found an open tube on the passenger side. Where does the plugged line go? What should be connected to the tube (above the tranny dipstick)?
I have an older Mustang with a C4. The only vac line I recall goes to the modulator (pictured) which is supposed to control the shift-point (rpm) depending on how hard the accelerator is pushed.
I *believe* the open tube in your 2nd pic is just a vent - which would probably drip if you over-filled the fluid-level.
You are saying both of those lines in the 1st pic are connected to manifold vacuum?
Yesterday I removed the line that was plugged and replaced the vacuum hoses on the good line. No change in my first gear chugging issue, I am thinking carb issue???
