Stall during right hand turns
Year: 2000
Engine: 4
Transmission: Standard
Miles: 195,000
So I have encountered a problem with my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT. It all started after my vehicle wouldn't start without a jump. I would go to work and it would die within a few hours. I replaced the battery and everything began to work perfectly.
Short Problem:
The vehicle starts and drives fine until it stalls. The vehicle ONLY stalls while making a right hand turn, where it begins to shake then shuts off. The acceleration, brakes, and power steering stop working and all the warning lights come on (check engine, abs, battery, ect.) The lights, radio, and heater are still operational. The vehicle takes ~ 10 minutes before it will start again. It works perfectly driving straight and making left hand turns.
I'm not very good with truck lingo, or anything to do with vehicles. But here's what I saw.
The thing in the yellow circle was disconnected, I reconnected it. The thing in the red connected to the IAC? was corroded so I unplugged it, cleaned it off and plugged it back in.
Shortly after that my vehicle leaked gas from the undercarriage, it seemed to stop after a minute or so though.
I have read several other postings with similar problems but I'm not very proficient at vehicle mechanics.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?
