Once again I need some advice. My truck is starting to act possessed. Today on a 2 hour trip down to Seattle my internal lights and radio flickered off then on. It happened when I hit the brakes, used the turn signal, electric windows and running lights. My low fuel, battery, and seat belt lights came on and then whent out like I was starting the motor. It did it for about 5 minutes and then while holding my breaks it seemed to correct itself for a while anyway. On the return trip I had no issues until about 20 miles from home I came to a stop light and hit the brakes. The lights did the same thing then my transmission overdrive light started to blink and it felt as if the tranny was ot engadging hardly at all. Of course I freeked thinking I just ate another tranny (this one only has 30,000 miles on it truck has 153,000). One I started going then it cleared it self and seemed to be working fine. Temprature in tranny was barely above 100. The last 30 minutes of the drive the radio would loose power and the other lights would do the same thing if I hit the brake pedal but not all the time. I have been considering replacing my batteries but could they cause this or is it some relay going bad? Once I got home the lights and radio did it again as I pulled into my drive way and it seemed to shut down more diliberatley than ussual (thats the best way I can describe it) and I canked it over a couple of time to start it and it started fine. I am confused and a bit concerned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'd start with a trip to your local auto parts store for a free battery load test, and alternator check. Also check your battery cables (both ends) for any loose connections or corrosion.
