I'm pretty sure this is the show I was watching, only half way, and they had a diesel wrench on who says the push rods on the 6.0 were too long (fifty thousandth ??). Like I said, only half watching.
Anyone have any info on this? Has this been well covered and I am just out of the loop?
They way I understand it if you get a set of pushrods from the dealer for a 6.0 they will be 0.050in shorter in response to a number of lifter failures where the roller bearings fail due to excessive preload or possibly even bottoming out the plunger. The bits of bearing often find their way into the low pressure oil pump and leave imprints in the pump gears.

Correct. Heard it. Seen it. If I ever pull my heads, the pushrods will all be replaced along with lifters just in case.
Unfortunately, you can't get the rearmost pairs out, the HPO branch tube is in the way. To do them all you get to pull the engine and remove the rear cover and branch tube.
