what is the name of the material that speaker boxes are made from? I have what it is before but i can not remember anymore.

 

MDF- Medium Density Fibreboard

 

Baltic Birch plywood is used quite often, too. It's lighter than MDF, stronger than MDF, and "takes" screws better than MDF. It is also twice as expensive as MDF (about $40 per 4'x8' sheet). MDF is the most popular, however.
