was thinking of adding wheel spacer to my f-150 to keep the tires from rubbing the radius arms. are there longer wheel studs that i can install to give me enough thread contact with the lug nuts?
Yes, you can get longer wheel bolts. They're used in racing and other places. some of those places like Speedway Automotive, Jeg's , etc. should have them.
First I would try my local auto parts store or tire shop. It's very possible they might have them as well. Take along one of your stock ones if you can.
I hope you're planning on going any more than about 1/2" to 3/4" on the thickness of the spacer. These things put stress on your wheel bearings.
mrwiz and ferguson are correct. You will need to spend money a lot sooner on wheel bearing, spindles, etc with those spacers. The spindles/bearings are made to accomodate the weight at a specific point from the end. By using a spacer you are moving that weight out toward the end, the skinny part, of the spindle and changing the angle of the weight on the bearings. This causes the bearing to wear prematurely and the spindle will end up with cuts in them.
