Tranmission fluid change

I plan on dropping the transmission pan on my 06 5.4 and changing fluid and filter, anybody know how much oil I will need to refill?

No, but I guess you know that will only change about half the fluid. The rest is up in the torque converter. Anyway, check the fluid level with the dipstick on a cold engine, not running. Make a note of exactly where it is on the stick. After putting the pan back on, add fluid to the trans until it equals the previous measurement. Check it later with a warmed-up, running engine to make sure the operating level is good.

I am looking for a qt. amount since I have to go get the oil and don't want to make 2 trips, not planning on having a trans flush done.

I know my first post here but long time Ford truck guy here (30 plus years).

On my 99L which also had the 5.4 I always measured out what I drained and replaced that exact amount and then checked it. My L had the 4R100 with the F250 deep pan and it was usually about 7 quarts

"I always measured out what I drained and replaced that exact amount and then checked it."

What he said.

My pan drop/drain uses approximately 6 quarts of MERCON V.
