52 trans

I saw a 1952 with an autotrans for sale and since ford put them in cars I figured they may have in trucks.

Ford-O-Matic introduced in 1951 Ford cars, 1953 F100/350's. Ditto Mercury, except they called their version Merc-O-Matic.

1950/55 Lincoln's used GM's Hydra-Matic, which was the first A/T, introduced in the 1940 Oldsmobile. Cadillac got it in 1941, Pontiac in 1948.

In 1922 FoMoCo bought the Lincoln Motor Co. in US Bankruptcy Court for 8 million dollars. 1950/55 Lincoln's also used Hydra-Matic, as did these GMC trucks and other non GM vehicles as well.

This being a forum on the subject of 48-56 Ford trucks, we all knew what the OP meant. No one here is laughing at your asinine behavior and attitude. We're done with you. You have been reported.

We know what the OP meant. Post 2 is not the OP.

"asinine behavior and attitude". Really?

Reported? For what? Mentioning GM?

Post 2 said no such thing, I pointed out that ain't true.

I'm surprised at your response, which I consider to be way out of line. Ed (85e150sixmtod) is one of the most helpful members of FTE inre to 500 series and larger trucks.

Posts on a daily basis in the Large Truck forum answering members trans and rear axle questions.

I've typed 100's of posts on the history of FoMoCo here on FTE over the past 8 years, some of which involves Cadillac. No one has complained yet.

What's wrong with mentioning what other manufacturers were/are doing? Especially with items like transmissions where they most often were built by someone, (not ford, or other big auto manufacturer,) that would typically make for many different auto makers. I know this is a ford truck board and all, but the name of any brand means so little, especially when you consider that the original ford motor company has been bought out and resold that that original company has evolved into what is Cadillac today...

Sorry if my reply wasn't clear, limiting it to Ford trucks. Let's not blow this out of proportion.

I don't know where you got this idea, but there is no connection between Ford and Cadillac.

The Henry Ford Company was reorganized and renamed to Cadillac after Henry Ford left to start Ford Motor Company.
