Hey all, I recently picked up a 86 F250 rebuilt 351 T18 trans. The truck kicks *** but I have 1 problem I need a little guidance on. the gas gauge doesnt work. I swapped out the rear/front switch, and both the fuel pumps. I was thining the tank valve, if you agree let me know and if so should I replace it with an OEM or a generic? Thanks in advance
Right on, Tim. Ground the lead at the tank and the gauge should swing past Full, albeit slowly as the gauge is thermal. And the valve doesn't get involved, but the switch on the HVAC panel does.
The oil pressure, water temp, and fuel level gauges all share the Instrument Cluster Voltage Regulator, so if any one of those gauges work the ICVR is working.
