after a year and a half of working in LA and returning home to Bakersfield on weekends, work on Lucille has all but stopped. Kind of hard to find the time to get anything done with all the honeydos.
Any way my employer has just notified me they are transferring me back to Bakersfield the end of November. Yippie-Skippie! Now I can get back to work on the '52 F-1.
I am complete mechanically. The running gear all works. If I had to I could throw a bale of hay up on the frame & drive it off.
I need to get started on the body work. The cab is my next project. I don't even know where to start. The cab is in pretty good shape, only a little rust around the drip rails. I'll have to learn as I go I guess. Looking forward to the challenge.
Hey Fix,
That's great news! You have a nice winter project waiting for you.
If the mechanical is all done you could just put the body back on as is & drive it & enjoy it for a while. Body work can be time consuming - maybe just do it a little at a time while driving it. (Any recent pics?)
It can be hard to get the momentum back, even when the truck is sitting right in front of you. Just do a little at a time, you'll get back in the swing of it!
