I just looked at a 2011 F250 4x4 with a 6.2L. It has about 55K miles on it and is a former company truck. Overall it looks decent. What are the common trouble spots for these trucks? Are how are they for long term reliability?
6.2 has been a good motor so far. No real issues that I am aware of.
The 6 speed tranny (2011 first year) has been good. Some of the early 11/12 models had some programming issues and shift solenoid revisions. Some harsh shifting. Inquire if it has been updated or any shifting issues.
Drive it for a bit and get it nice and warm. If it shifts smooth then you should be good to go.
Thanks for the advice. The transmission felt fine on the drive, but I will have to check into the history.
The 6.7 has a ton of power (my buddy has a new one), but they are out of my price range. And the number of miles this truck will see will not justify the extra cost/MPGs.
If anyone else knows any trouble areas, please let me know. Thanks.
