I'd look at the cps first that's the easiest ,most of us with 7.3's carry a spare cps in the console, did you get the cps recall done a couple of years ago?
What's the fuel pressure ?
How much fuel is in the tank is it more than 1/4?
Check the tin nut on the ipr sensor , some times they fall off into the valley, that can cause the motor to die.
Have you a proven powerstroke scanner you can retrieve some codes with?

If you where to fill out your signature of your truck (motor trans and mods done etc) that will then help others with your diagnosis.

IPR: Injection Pressure Regulator
Output; The PCM controls the high pressure oil system by varying the duty cycle of the IPR. The IPR controls the oil bypass circuit of the high pressure pump. 0%=full return to sump (open valve), 100%=full flow to injectors (closed valve). The PCM monitors the system with the ICP input. The PCM can control fuel delivery to the injectors by increasing the IPR duty cycle which increases fule pressure through the injector nozzels. PID: IPR (% of duty cycle), MFDES Mass Fuel Desired an internal PCM calculation based on load demand (MG)

PCM's are different for Auto and Manual you will need the code off the PCM to match up a second hand one , for instance my PCM is a QHL2

Fuel filters in the mixing chamber in the fuel tank could be clogged , this will happen if you picked up a bad lot of fuel, what is the fuel pressure?

Hi , blue7.3 & Chunderdownunder, after a lot of $$ and time we got it sorted . I sent the PCM away for testing came back all good , it ended up being the sensor on the bottom of the HPOP It had a crack ..
Now I have a problem with the Diablo sport Predator tuner ,it won't let me change any settings ...
Any ideas ????

Thanks again for your help Mat....

Matt, it's good you have solved the problem , sounds like a coil on the ipr or they have renewed the ipr itself.

A lot of the times you can do these jobs you self if you take some advice from the members here as we are here to help, we can guide you through the procedure, and save you lots of money.
