Now to fix the broken springs so my butt doesn't hit the floor with every bump.
I just tore apart a spare bench seat that I have because the driver side sagged and leaned toward the door.
The main shape is like the letter D made with a heavy (1/8" steel rod). It might be larger than 1/8". Right under my right knee, this was broken.
There are 3 or 4 round coil springs on each short edge of the seat. (1 of mine was broken)
There are 2 layers of flat rectangular springs that go from the front edge to the back edge. Each row is connected to the next with rings shaped like a paper clip. (I had a few of these rings broken).
Wear some decent gloves when working on these old seats. Lots of sharp edges under there.
