Machine shops in the Tipton County area
Hello, fellow FTE TN Chapter folks
I've got a '78 F250 with a 400 that will need a rebuild in the not too distant future.
I was curious who you would recommend to do the machine work - turn the crank, shave the heads and block if needed, that stuff. I'm in Atoka, and prefer local, but if the place is the very best I could drive a ways.
Thanks, in advance, for your help?

How did that work out for you?
I bet one look around the shop was all you needed to see to know it was the real deal!
There's also a fella somewhere around the south Tipton county area I think name of David Gray, but he's retired, works at home, and I don't have a contact number for the guy.
Sandy is your best bet because it's a real business and he specializes in automotive and race car machine work.
~ He's an opinionated fella, from being around the Memphis racing scene as long as he has. I bet the first thing he tells you is that 400's and 351M's are DOGS as race engines.
But he has seen every kind of V8 engine build that you can do, and knows what works, what's fast, and what lasts a long time.
