That is good to know ford. Some of the screws on the 93 are worn, and I think I'm going to replace the FIPL on it. The deal is stalled right now because of schedules, but still in the works. No hurry for me. She will probably sit until spring anyway. I have too many irons in the fire right now as it is. Even though I am pretty certain it is a done deal, If I have learned anything in my fifty laps around the sun, nothing is done until it is done! Tentative transaction date right now is Tuesday. Stay tuned!
I'm relatively near you in Dalhart, TX and after reading your post it dawned on me that we might be able to help each other out. I have a 93 F350 7.3 Crew 2x4 with auto E4OD. My trans is starting to slip a little and I was thinking of switching to a manual. There are a few other things I would like to benefit from as well if I had access to a near match donor truck like the one you may be scrapping. I'm not sure what all the details would be, we'd have to discuss it if course but I feel like there could possibly be a mutually beneficial arrangement that would get us both the upgrades we want with the added benefit of us both saving a lot of money. I also have unlimited access to a quite large and very well equipped machine shop with the ability to fabricate any parts (brackets, mounts, etc.) we need but don't have and don't want to buy new, and of course to make necessary alterations to existing parts.
Let me know if you're interested in exploring the possibility. And if not, keep me in mind if you do in fact scrap the 93, I would be very interested in buying some parts from you.
I should add that I am the purchasing manager for this shop and as such any parts we need that would be too complicated to fabricate from raw materials, I can buy at prices much, much lower than retail.
Well, she is home. Towed her to the house today. Not sure what I am going to do as far as getting her going yet. I am re-thinking going all parts truck on the 93 again. I'll get some pics up soon. jdq1986 it is going to be a while before I am ready to do anything.
I don't see how jdq1986 and you can swap seeing as his truck is 2wd and you are 4x4 no? Glad you finally scored a nice crew cab Macgyver, I am sure you will make a sweet truck out of it

Feel free to call me Josh, fellas. I might have mixed up which truck was 4x4 and which one was 4x2 in your original post akamacgyver. I'm not sure if that would scrap the whole idea or not. Also, that '94 is turbo'd and mine isn't, so if the 4x4 doesn't kill it then that might. Either way, I'd still buy some parts from you if you do in fact decide to retire the '93. No worries on the timing, I'm in no rush. One thing I've learned while working on these older trucks, getting in a hurry is one surefire way to overlook something and have to do it all over again.
Congrats on the new addition! Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
