Titan Tank DTE reprogram

Hey Guys,
I'm taking the truck into the dealer on Thurs to have my new TPMS programmed and asked them if they can re-calibrate my DTE to account for my Titan Tank. They told me there is nothing they can do in the computer to account for the new tank size. I'm sure I saw somewhere in another thread where guys have had this changed at the dealer? Can anyone confirm this either way for me so I can get it sorted on Thursday. Thanks

Yes, they can do it. I'm having mine reprogramed on Thursday. You'll just have to call a few different dealers, maybe offer to bring a printout of the instructions. Someone should post it on here or just do a quick internet search and you'll find em. My hard part was finding one semi affordable to do it. My local dealer wanted 150.00 to do it. Next town over is 100.00. Better, but way more than a lot of other guys said they paid. Good luck.

I had them do mine before I picked up the new truck.
Here's the directions if they need it:

1) Ensure IDS is at least version 72.xx -
2) Click on the toolbox icon at top left of main screen
3) Select 'Module Programming' - click checkmark icon
4) Select 'Programmable Parameters'
5) Select 'Fuel" - click checkmark icon
6) Select 'Front Fuel Tank - (IC) = xx' on bottom of parameter list
7) Select 50 (or whatever size your tank is) on right side of screen and click checkmark icon. Follow the remaining on-screen instructions.

X2, I really appreciate the info. I guess I'll see if they can figure it out and whether or not they'll charge me. I'm hoping it's a freebie seeing as how I just bought the truck from them. I'll update this when I'm done. Cheers

You could always show them the instructions and if they still refuse,
nicely say thank you very much, I'll go take my business down to xx dealer from now on...

That's what I'm doing re the tpms programming - Discount Tire will do it for free AND rotate my tires

All you need to reprogram the TPMS is an air compressor, an air gauge and 3 minutes..

I went in to the dealer Thurs morning and it took them all of 10 minutes to learn the TPMS sensors and change the fuel tank size in the computer. Thanks again to Dr T for the info. The tech read the instructions, said "ok, sounds easy enough" and literally had it all done in about 10 minutes. Service Manager said it was "on the house" because it went so quick. So anyone that is getting quoted $100-$150 for a dealer to change the tank size is clearly getting screwed. I'm all for paying for their time but they should be a bit more reasonable when all the tech has to do is hook up a laptop and push 5 buttons!! On a side note, it sure is nice to have it done and reading accurately now!! Cheers

I did this to mine almost two years ago, had to take them the instructions, while they were in there, i had them reprogram the TPM's to allow 65 lbs in the rear so when i am not towing i can run a little less air.

New 50gal TransferFlow tank

Took my F250 in this morning.

After 20 minutes the service rep came back to me with the story that his mechanic with 20 years experience said it can't be done.

Showed the service rep this forum post and forwarded him the instructions. Twenty minutes later it's done. MTE is now about twice what it was yesterday.

Rep he'd leave it to the service manager (who was on vacation) to determine how much I owed them, but that it would probably be comped.

You should have asked who to send your invoice too for providing the instructions on how to do it!!
