Can you tell me if the divco 17 in wheels in the early sixtys were widow makers or just split rims? Here is a pic i have a chance to buy some were they 5 lug 8" wheels in hoping to put them on my coe.
They are side ring/lock ring, but won't fit. First reason, they are hub piloted. Second reason, a 17" won't clear the rear drum on an inner dual. Here's a pic I took last week of a similar wheel on a Divco at Hershey. Stu
You are a wealth of knowledge stu!!!! How do you know this stuff???? Before I joined the sight I used to go on here and read all the posts, thanks to you I new what wheels to find of my 49 f-4 luckily I scored some budd wheels for it!

You got me scratchin my head Stu its been awhile but It was the Divco model
306 dual wheels had the split rear axle just like Ford using the square inner
bolt then the nut like a F6 would have. Curious I'll check I got all the Divco
books. Then the last Divcos; the bottom was half Ford anyways.
I too have been looking for budd wheels 19.5 but just cant find them close enough that shipping wont break the bank. I need at least 8

Too bad you didn't say something earlier. We were through Maryland with trailer in tow a couple weeks ago on way to Gettysburg and Hershey. I'd have brought you eight.
I'm not good on Divco model differences, just know the wheels. I tend to view Divco like I do Studebaker. It seems the engineers designed them around available components rather than spec'ing materials to their designs. Some models used Budd stud piloted, others used Motor Wheel Corp hub piloted. Whatever stuff the Purchasing Dept got a smoking hot deal on. Stu
Hey there pweng1 I found my wheels at a big truck junkyard in southern pa right near the Maryland border, I wana say he probably has more.... I think it's on rtr 272 they have nothing but trucks on the one side of the yard.
