I know there are other threads on this but I have replaced both the motor and the module and checked the fuse.
Here's what my wipers are doing:
When I first bought the truck (on the test drive) the wiper seemed to be fine. Got it home that night and the wipers were dead. The next day when I driving around getting parts for the defrost issue, the wipers would come on sometimes and not others. Going off the other threads, this sounded like the module under the dash(can't think of the name right now, the wiper brain) so I replaced it. In after swapping it, the wipers seemed to be better but not fixed. First click of the switch would do nothing, second would have the wipers move a 1/2 inch and then vibrate like the motor was struggling. The next click would have them working just fine. So I replaced the motor as my wife's grand cherokee had the same problem and that fixed it for her, but no dice for me.
Anyone know what the problem could be? I was going to try checking the harness to see if it was chaffed/loose connection somewhere. Besides for that there's only the switch that it could be right?
Switch maybe but try putting 12v to the motor just after the switch and see if it works like it's supposed to. If not then go to the next downstream location and yet there.
You're just gonna have to systematically narrow it down.
By the module under the dash do you mean the one behind the glove box? Or do you mean the round plastic thing that houses the wiper contacts? Your wiper issue sounds like you may have more than one issue. When I had my wiper issues (not quite the same as yours but some of your symptoms are similar to mine) I took the round plastic cover off of the wiper contacts. It's located at the top of the firewall under the hood. It has a disc with two contacts that ride on it. If you haven't already done it, clean all of the crap off the disc and the contacts, bend the contacts towards the plate and maybe put a bit of dielectric grease on them. Put it back together and it may solve some of your problems.
The round plate can be hard to get off but just work carefully from the bottom tabs around to the top and it will come off. That's the most common issue/fix for our wipers and it's a good place to start.
... x 2 ... there's a sticky at the beginning of this forum that deals with this ..."easy wiper fix" or something like that . it may be just what you are looking for.

The linkage seems fine when when the wipers do work. Unfortunately I had already replaced my motor before I read that thread. It solved the problem of the hestiation when the wipers would try to work.
I feel kinda silly now after I started checking with my MM and realized I hadn't checked the new module to see if it was doa, which it was. Yet another trip to the auto store to return the damaged one they gave me and all is good now.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
