I can't find any info on the Ford Aeromax. Who's makin 'em these days? Is Ford still making medium-duty commercial trucks internally as well. Ford sold the Class 8 unit as far as I remember...Thanks for any info.
Hi,
The Ford Aeromax is now Called a Sterling. The blue oval is now a silver "S". I believe Sterling is a division of Freightliner, but I could be wrong on that. Ford dealers are still selling them.
I believe you're right. Throw Mercedes Benz somewhere into that mix too.
Ah well, It's basically a component truck anyway. Really nice comfortable ride though! definately designed with the driver in mind.

Most medium and heavy duty truck manufacturers are actually coach builders. They build the body, but motor, trans, axles, etc, are built by other mfg's and assembled by the truck company to suit the orders. Mack manufactures (or at least used to) the entire truck-everything.
Volvo is a seperate company they also own Mack trucks. I think the bigger Fords (F-7,F-8s) were built in Louisville, KY. I think Ford still builds trucks there (up to F-6).
