10k and up for used. I could probably get away with the idea of Mattracks. But there's no way the wife would let me buy a full blown snowcat.

The thread is just for fun. I started it honestly to reassure myself that the Mattracks are worth their weight in gold, which I'm sure they are. But I figured I'd get a few opinions from other people outside my circle of friends.

Once you price them I think your decision will be clear. Looked into them years ago and not feasible for my income. I have no doubt they would work well.

I'm pretty sure they aren't legal for road use, so that'll limit them to dedicated off-road rigs anyway, or people who have the time and energy to swap them on when they leave public roads.

150 series with Hyd assist! $38,000. Can run up to 40mph, carry lots of weight. Believe total weight of around 12,000lbs. Reason I was looking is because they changed the rules on our snow roads to tracked vehicles only! No tires after dec 1st. So my big tires are illegal now on the mountain near my house!

Chains illegal!

[QUOTE=351Cleveland C4;14757925]Even with chains. This particular road is called red grade road. Main access into mtns from my house! Sign says no tired vehicles! Road is difficult even with big tires 40" or bigger. Road steep! 10% on part of road and slow driving!
