Another Chime Questions
I just picked up a 2010 F150. I tied at least three different versions of the seat belt chime, plus the one in the manual. I finally had to disconnect the seat belt connector on the front right side of the driver seat.
After doing the disconnect, started the engine and checked it out. Chime was gone.
Went onto the key in the ignition-door open. After removing the top and bottom of the cover, I noticed the ignition switch was totally different. It had a small black shroud around the key end of the switch with a small 4 pin connector attached to it. No black/pink stripe wire any where. I did disconnect the 4pin connector, did not make a difference. Put everything back to gather..
A couple hours late went to pick up some pickets for repair work. Started fine, no seat belt chime, then the airbag light stayed on. Stopped and reconnected the seat belt connector. Started it and everything went back to normal, with the chime, no airbag light.
What went wrong with the seat belt process? Next things to try?
I completed the door open key chime on my E350, the process was exactly as stated in this forum. This forum also showed a connector with a black/pink wire, where is this connector located? I looked under the foot area but could not locate it. More precise location needed with wire color to disconnect.
Next steps for both as these chimes really are bad.
On step three after insert/ removal process, it was the seat belt light that came on not the airbag light as the manual indicates. completed the process and got the confirmation code.
Still chimed.
Ran process again and got the confirmation code. Same thing, still chimes
