Against most recommendations....

I decided to add Royal Purple's Purple Ice to my coolant and I must say, it works in these trucks. My spreads have always been 6-8 empty and 11-13 towing 5-7K. After adding Purple Ice, my spreads and temps are staying down while towing as if I was empty.

Did you flush before adding it?

I was thinking about dropping the coolant I have, adding just water and that boiler cleaner stuff, rinse, repeat, then switching to evans coolant.
Mines good, just as preventative.

I did not. I only have about 30,000 miles on my coolant currently. I did just change my coolant filter. and topped off a half quart or so.

I tried the wetter water additive awhile back and noticed that my nitrates dropped out fast. I would keep an eye on the nitrate level and it should be fine.
