97 tranny problem
Hi
So i was driving my 97 f250 last night. I was on the highway and had to accelerate from doing about 25 mph. I hit the gas and the engine revved but the truck would hardly move. It was like I hadn't let out the clutch, but this is an automatic! It took a long time to just get it to 30 mph. Every stop took a long time to get going, but I finally made it tomy work, where I picked up another truck, and took that one home. One thing I had noticed a few times earlier that day was when I hit the gas, the truck hesitated for a second , then I heard something like a loud bell, and then it got going just fine.
This is a 4.6 liter engine.
Any ideas?
