Color coordinating issues

I'm a military retiree and now I work for the USPS. Both places of employment required me to wear two shades of blue. No brainer there.

I have two very nice suits and I have several shirts of blue and white selections and a bunch of cheap ties and a couple nice ones.

Next month at my daughter's college, they are hosting the Junior / Dad ball. I'm going out on a ledge with a new shirt and tie to wear with my dark grey suit or better known as charcoal.

I've pulled up a few websites for guys with my dilemma and I've decided to go with a pink shirt and possibly a greenish patterned tie. According to the color wheel, it works.

Looking for some input from my friends whom I know wouldn't knowingly steer me down the wrong path.

That's an "in" color combination, in particular with a white color/cuffs and brown shoes/belt. Depends though on your age and style, it's a young slick look. Depends on your style and what your trying to present.

OK thanks. I guess being 53 doesn't make young or slick but I don't feel old either.

Well Tim, I am partially color challenged. Most problems are with reds, browns, greens, etc. My color wheel consists of blues, varying shades of black, gray and camo.

My wife and daughters are my clothing advisors. Often times their advise is driven by whether they suspect they will be seen in public with me...or not.

Females, of all ages, have the propensity to be be very, very mean.....
