Some of you have AutoEnginuity, so I figured I'd post how you can pull your factory keyless entry code. You need the AE scan tool with access to the enhanced Ford functionality. I'm using Version 10, yours may be slightly different.
To start, connect to your truck. I don't have an Excursion to do this on anymore, so I used my old Lincoln. DON'T connect with Enhanced Powertrain, you need to connect to the Body Control Module if I remember right. On my Lincoln this is the DDM, but yours will be different.
Next, go over to the "Test OnBoard System" tab, and select the command to retrieve the factory keyless entry code...
Click "Initiate", wait a couple of seconds, and your code will be present!
And it's that easy. Takes only a couple of minutes.
If this happens to motivate you to purchase AE, here's where you can buy it from one of our site sponsors!
I'd guess it's related. I'm not certain, but it would make sense that the two security systems were related. I've only pulled the door codes twice, once on my '00 Excursion and the other on my '97 Lincoln.
Does the keypad light up when you press a button? When you press the "7-8" and "9-0" buttons together does anything happen?
No, pull the chip Don't just switch to the stock tune on the chip.
Pulling the chip will completely eliminate that as the problem.

Probably not going to go that far to retrieve the code...yet
I was under the dash to retrieve the door code...in the rain...when it was right about freezing...in the dark...LOL. I successfully pulled the barcode on the PATS, but apparently the wrong box. This one had a bright green connector and looking at the pics, I should have the one with a bit duller green and another connector beside it- about 90* from the one I took a pic of
I'll give that a shot again today as the weather is clearing up.
Razzi retrieved my door code using his AE, I am also running Gearhead tunes on the Hydra. Zero issues...
As far as it disabling the PATS, I believe it's because the base programming overwrites the EBM into a PMT, which didn't have PATS to my knowledge.
I understood the first part
I was speculating and asking, hoping it wasn't the case- especially by never hearing about it as a problem. But then again, never heard much about the PATS being disabled, either, so I thought it might be possible.
Thanks for clearing the part up.
I have lots of questions about the tunes and what they are doing, but for right now they work, so I haven't bothered them too much. The questions I have asked were taken seriously and answered respectfully- no complaints
It's all the way up to 42F right now. Will get out to it shortly as the sun warms up a bit. See if I can locate the number on the RIGHT box this time
Basically, the second part refers to the OEM/base programming on the PCM as it comes from Ford. Excursions have EBM1 and EBM2, plus one more I think that isn't super common. Super Duty's have PMT1, PMT2, and a few others as well. From what I've understood the PMT is more open to programming and tweaks, shows more reliable results, easier to manipulate, etc. So some programmers completely over-write our EBM and overlay a PMT. I partly think it's also easier for them as well, it keeps all tweaks on one platform instead of having to figure out the differences. As such, the PMT is a Super Duty tune and the SD's didn't have a PATS. Only real reason I can see why some are and are not PATS compatible.
