And then there's the member who flew out and drove his new-to-him truck back home. He had a few problems, but all in all it sounded like he enjoyed the trip from the write up. I guess it's somewhat of a roll of the dice and only the truck knows the odds.

Exactly, I would rather play it safe then be screwed driving a new to me 25+ year old truck 2000 miles.

Don't get me wrong, I flew to Tx picked up a truck, drove to IL then back to NJ, but that was only a 6 year old with 80k on it and I would GLADLY do that again.

my buddy replaced his bench and it just sets way to hi in the cab. not sure what year truck the seat is from though.

The only plus is that you can get a factory ZF5 carb'd truck. That's what my tow truck is. And yes, at some point I want to swap a bullnose front clip on it...
