What to do with virgin 01? Look Tugly

- The coolant temperature isn't on the OBDII port, but AE doesn't know that. Nobody knows what the Coolant Temp PID really means.
- Go into your PID for speed, set the scale factor to 256, and the maximum to 100. That should fix it.
- If the BARO radically changed, you would be on the nose of a rocket. BARO is the air pressure at your altitude - you don't live in the mountains, from that reading.

After some quick reading I see what you mention. The water temp is useless.
Below is a screen shot, warm engine, at idle (stop and go light). The water temp at this point has went to 304, sat there, and is making it way around the bend again...
Baro is at its lowest point here at 4.49v it was always normally 4.50-4.51v. NOT the 4.90 I mentioned earlier.
Exhaust back pressure acts normal, manifold pressure acts normal. Not sure what is going on with this truck now...
Can make a 500 mile trip with the truck and when you stop it goes into high idle (warm up mode). Truck is also only getting 15.6mpg which sucks especially for a 2wd!
Also are the oil and water temp sensors the same? If a person were to get an oil temp sensor which is the "good one" to get? I see two different styles from ford like the cps, one black plug and one gray plug.

I did not check with anything I guess because I didn't have anything with me.
This was after running the truck about 50 miles and idling for a total of about 2 hours. The gauge on the dash showed "warm" lol and the heater was blowing good hot air. The air outside was about 25 degrees and as you can see on AE the air intake temp was around 30 all the time.
Right after the screenshot I did a WOT pull onto the highway up to 75mph which after awhile made the oil temp come up to 166f but then started falling again. Cruise set at 70mph the rest of the way home (20 miles) and when pulling in the yard the oil temp was showing around 158f.

Seek, are you wanting to "tap" into the eot wire, leading to OBD, and T it off to a switch, which the other lead will go to a ect sensor? not a bad idea

I don't think it is a stuck thermostat, as in the heater blows nice and hot. I know not the best thing to go by but if the thermostat was stuck open and the water temp was actually 150f like the oil the air coming out of the heater would be much cooler than what I feel.
I ordered a black plug oil temp sensor for $20 and am going to throw it in just to see if that changes the value that AE sees.
While I am playing around I may pull out and clean the EBP tube and sensor.

The oil temperature sensor and water temperature sensor are not the same part. I know from experience. I changed my water pump and put a new water temperature sensor on and suddenly I had non functioning temperature gauge in the cab? I figured it was a bad sensor, I replaced it and no change.. I got on FTE to figure out why my guage went bad and figured out that the oil temperature sensor was a different part number than the water temperature sensor (different resistance values) went to Ford and got the correct part number installed and my temperature gauge now works perfectly!! Apparently some parts stores list the same part number for both the water and oil temperature sensor. I would recommend going to FORD for this part, would have saved mt lots of time and headache.
Part numbers:
OIL TEMP SENSOR: 9278
WATER TEMP SENSOR: 10884

Ok, so my 10884 sensor showed up. Just simply says temp sensor on the packaging.
Still not seeing a 9278 temp sensor? The 9278 digits only bring up a oil pressure sensor/switch.
I guess I can just plug in the sensor without actually installing it and see if it shows ambient air temp and then assume it will work or not depending on the reading?
Would the 12A648 be the right oil temp sensor?

Just ran out with AE and tested the 10884 sensor.
Sensor was sitting outside overnight and was the same temp as everything else on the truck. I did a control check with AE and all sensors were within a degree of eachother at around 32f. Plugged in the new sensor and it showed 110f. However it wasn't screwed into the housing "grounded", not sure if that makes a difference with this sensor?
Then I took a couple screenshots of all the pressures and temps.
This first screenshot is after plugging the original oil temp sensor in. After playing with it a bit the temp rose to 37f in this pic. It was originally the same as the air intake when I first checked before playing with anything.
Note the barometric pressure volts at 4.49
Then I switched the 'exhaust back pressure' (center value) to 'volts' as well assuming it should match barometric pressure?
I read the barometer is in the ecu? Are those readings right or is the barometer way off? I know I asked before but where is the ecu (drivers side, passenger side, under a kick panel)?
