Kevin here, and I'm a newbie. I recently purchased my first 4x4, a 99 F250 with ESOF. Last night I had put it in 4high for a rough road turn-around and then flipped the switch back to 2H, the 4x4 light didn't go off. Then when I got to the house (about 1/2 mile), it rolled when put in park and now it won't go into any gear. Any suggestions? And thanks ahead of time.
Also there is a motor on your tranny that switches from 2wd to 4wd. It is a small cylinder that is operated by your dash switch. I think there is like 3 bolts that it's connected to the tranny with. I took mine off and switched the dash from 2 to 4 wheel drive and it worked. But I put my fingers on it and it had no strength. Could be that.
The video that I posted was what I did when my shift lever just went limp. I also fixed the do dad that shows what gear I was in. I had been driving for a bit with it saying I was in park. The link to my thread is probably what your looking at. Everyone was saying something about corrosion but I found that it was the $150 motor. Dealer wanted $400 advanced auto had it for $150
