Cooling system questions
I have a couple of quick questions regarding the 335 series cooling systems.
-1. Is there a replacement thermostat housing available for the 400 that does not have the bungs for the ported vacuum switches cast into it?
The t-stat housing on my engine has those openings plugged, I don't need to run any of the emissions stuff where I live..I don't like the look of it.
Were there any 45 degree t-stat housings made that "did not" have the bungs? 429/460 385 style?
Would a 90 degree Cleveland style t-stat housing work? Has anyone here done that, any pics?
-2. When buying upper/lower radiator hoses which is better, the molded type hose or a flexible hose with a spring inside?
Thanks in advance.

Subscribed to see the answers on the t-stat housings. As for the hose, I always use the molded hoses. I think they fit better and the lower hose on the 80-86 trucks has to fit correctly or the power steering belt will hit it.
By the way, you do know you need a different thermostat for the 335 series engines?
