Question Engine swap questions

I have a 1989 F150 XLT with the 5.0 currently. We are looking to change up to the 5.8. Are the associated parts: distributor, valve covers, timing chain cover ect interchangeable? I thought I read some where it was pretty much a plug and play scenario.

Thanks everyone!

Andy

These motors are pretty much interchangable but they do not share a lot of parts in common, the complete intake(upper and lower), fuel rail, distributor, flexplate or flywheel, exhaust manfolds, oilpan and dipstick are all 5.8 unique. So for this swap you need a complete 5.8 EFI motor and a flexplate to match the trans, then it will plug right in and connect to all the factory original wiring. DO NOT attempt to use any wiring that comes with the donor motor it will just make the job more difficult.
