302 EFI engine swap
89 Bronco with a 5.0 threw a rod, and I'd like to upgrade if possible. The FMS P58 complete engine (1997 F150 5.8efi) looks like a good buy, but I need a complete list of everything I'll need to convert from a 302 to a 351.
Sounds like a computer, flywheel, brackets and maybe a wiring harness. Has anyone actually done this swap?
My second choice is the FMS G50 engine - essentially the early 90's Mustang mill, and it should bolt right in.
Thanks-GP

5.8 Intake manifold (upper and lower)
Water pump
Oil Pan
Valve covers
(all your gaskets will come with the crate eng)
Timing chain cover
Fly wheel for 5.8
Harmonic Balancer
Eng Mounts
Distributor, Cap and Rotor, Plugs, wires
ECU for 5.8 (possibly the wiring harness too)
Exhaust manifolds/headers and "Y" pipes must be replaced or widened. the 5.8 is about 2.5 inches wider so the 302 exhaust will not work. (I found this out the hard way

I think that is about it! Oh, I almost forgot - you will need to replace all the sensors, oil pressure, water temp, ect...
The switch to a bigger eng will add up as you can tell from above $$
I did this about 3 months ago and have some before and after pics if your interested. Let me know if I can help you out - I have definately learned some things from this swap.
species has covered everything else though.
