The warranty plate will tell you a lot, but they are often not correct to the truck. If the door was ever changed out, the warranty plate would be incorrect. The best place to find a true vin to the vehicle is on the passenger side frame rail right in front of the front tire. Although it sounds like everything is checking out so far.
