SES Light & Stutter

I'm half way between home and work. SES light came on so I pulled over. Engine has a slight stutter, but is still running. I'm going to try to limp home (about 15 miles). Any ideas on where to start looking?

I changed the fuel filter, and it seems to be idling much better. The filter was very dirty. The SES light is still on. I had an UVCH go out on me a year ago, and this doesn't seem to be anywhere close to as bad as that. I sure hope that's not my problem. I'm going for a test drive, and I will report back.

Fuel filter helped, but didn't solve the problem. The stutter is still there, along with the SES light, but I don't have any problem getting up to speed (at least 60 mph).

I tested the 42-pin. I tested with two different meters. Neither meter read "0" when touching leads together. One read 0.5 and the other read 1.0. The following readings are from the meter that read 0.5:

8 - 4.0
2 - 3.8
4 - 3.8
6 - 3.2

1 - 5.7
7 - 4.9
3 - 4.8
5 - 4.8

The readings I got with my 2nd meter were all roughly 0.5 higher. I really don't trust these meters, but I got the same readings a few times. What's my next move?

Not at the moment. Toreador Diesel said he could check codes for me tonight, but I'm trying to find a fix in the mean time. I really need to get to work, but that's looking like it's not going to happen.

Pulling the ICP sensor connector will raise the idle ICP. Did it smooth out?

I didn't drive with the ICP disconnected. When I unplugged the ICP, there was a change, but I wouldn't say that the idle got "smoother" because it's not really unsmooth now. The idle seems almost fine. I can drive the truck on the freeway now, but there's a miss. It's not like I've lost power to 1/2 the engine. Over the last year, I had an UVCH and an IDM go out, so I know what that's like. This is no where near as bad, but it's bad enough that I don't want to drive it.
