At the very least you should consider headers before ever thinking of a cam or head swap.

The real HP improvements are in the cylinder heads. But you will gain some HP with a cam change but don't expect miracles.
While most folks buy cams from the guys who advertising budget is huge I prefer to deal with smaller cam outfits who can grind a custom made grind for your application. Better cores… personal service.
My suggestion would be to call Mike @ www.jonecams.com or Charles @ Automotive Performance Camshaft Production Manufacturer | Camcraft Performance Cams. Ask about installing the cam advanced… that may help.
