I wonder... if the stock eot sensor is actually after the oil cooler, and the oil filter is before....if we could test by installing a temp gauge on one of those billet oil filter caps. (maybe make a juseemper harness to move the stock EOT sensor to the billet cap, or use an infared thermometer on the stock plastic cap) We would have to know what the "normal" oil filter housing temp is first.
I bet Josh knows....
I'm pretty sure oil comes out of the oil cooler and into the oil filter housing. I know this because I just purchased an oil cooler cap (filter base) and I've traced the flow of oil from the cooler up to the filter housing to see how the oil volley bypass valve works.
My oil cooler had 7500 miles on it, and I'm pushing a 20 delta. I'm seriously considering the IPR oem ok cooler relocation kit to be able to change oil coolers in an hour.
never heard of this cooler any info you can share. Ok just checked this out very interesting and muck less expensive than the Bulletproof relocation cooler. Anyone have this installed?

They don't have near the reputation as BPD because I feel they went to market to soon with their product. From the reading I've done, lots of guys had issues with these a couple years ago that appear to have been worked out by now.
IMHO, there's lots of trolls that trash the ipr kit with misleading info.
My hesitation is with the oil filter housing. It makes oil changes more difficult.
A. It filters all all coolant going into the oil cooler.
B. The oil filter is 23 microns. OEM filter is 20 microns.
C. Higher oil filter flow rate than the oem oil filter. At full demand (WOT) the oil filter is bypassed .... same as oem.
There are a few fte members that have installed the kit without issue. Not a lot of people with experience with these kits.
this is what I got as a reply from Mishimoto after I mailed them their thermostat with my old one and the old housing. What do you guys think of this?
William,
I received the thermostat and housing, thank you.
It did appear that there was a small change that Ford made from the newest housing and the housing you provided me with. Conveniently, we had a newer thermostat housing here
You can see in the attached picture that the newer one is one the left and yours is on the right. I have sent them both to you as a courtesy and we are going to include on our website that some customers may need to purchase the newer thermostat housing for compatibility!

Checked 6L bible and you are correct, oil through cooler to oil filter base where oil temp and pressure sensors are, then to filter, with bypass valve there.

I had to go out and look at my new oil filter base to confirm this. The oil is filtered before it hits the EOT sensor and EO pressure switch.
Flow is...
1. Into oil cooler (or to oil filter housing through the oil cooler bypass valve if there is to much diffetential pressure.....which is why you should let the oil warm up before getting on it.).
2. Out oil cooler into outside of oil filter.
3. Through filter (unless filter is clogged and then it goes through oil filter bypass valve on top of oil column) and down into the oil filter base.
4. Runs past oil pressure switch and oil temp gauge.
