i am putting a new motor in to my 68 f100 stepside........ and was wondering how the gas pedal was going to work...... i can't seem to find a kit to adapt my floor petal....... any ideas....... i was also looking at lokar they make a petal you can put in that is cable operated has any one used this petal? if so what did you think?
i have a IL6 in there now i am putting a 289 in( will any of the old brackets work?) i would like to try and keep my petal and not put a new one in
I've got a 351W (stroked393) in my 69 with Holley 750 and Edelbrock torquer II intake. Removed the stock linkage all the way back to the arm coming up from the firewall/pedal and using a FORD threaded shaft rod setup from carb to rear arm. I've got the summit front carb mounted return spring kit and works great.
I got the accelerator pull rod from my local ford parts dept, I'll check today and see if I can find you a part#. The summit spring kit I used is for Holley 4150/4160 carbs only but I'm sure they make one for your Edelbrock if you do a web search.

If you have the money, I would go with the cable. On the bright side, if you cab tends to move a little (i.e bad cab mounts) it won't affect it.
On a side note, sometimes up here in SD with our wonderful winter weather, If I am driving down the highway when there is a lot of blowing snow, my pedal tends to stay on the floor when I go to slow down (get outta my way!!) I assume that the engine is warming it up enough for snow to stick to it, but then it freezes. I can usually pull it up with my foot, but I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this and if there is an easy fix, thanks.
