I've a 1965 F100 I bought from the semi-original owner (old guy, first owner was his dad, but it was his first vehicle/dd for years) about two years ago. I've used it as a wheelbarrow, and while I do have dreams of restoring it, I need to continue to use it as a wheelbarrow for the foreseeable future. I've checked a few of the local junk yards, but haven't found any salvage-worthy parts, so I was hoping to get some help with two things:
Firstly, the hood has rotted out around the latch. The damage is bad enough I have been trying to local a replacement. I've see the Fiberglass ones, but that's not really what I want, since my truck lives outside and it can get cold in the winter.
Second, the front edge of my bed (long bed, 2wd) is rotting out. I've a woodshop, so putting together a new base would be possible, but I can't find any mount kits for a wood bed, and don't want to try my hand at welding. Does anyone know of any? Or, do you know of a place where I can just get a new metal 'floor'?
I'm replacing my bed, too. Are the brackets under the bed ok? If so all you need to do is either make new wood slats. You can buy the metal separators can be bought from Dennis Carpenter. He has chrome for $125 and not chrome (i forget what they are) for $40. Dennis Carpenter also has the bolt kit.
I'd look at car-part.com for a hood. I've found stuff through that site.
Resonateur/my 66: My truck is a long bed (styleside?), and 2wd. I might be willing to make a trip down to Cali for parts, but you'd have to have everything I needed, and really good prices.

I'll have to look at the brackets under the bed. I would guess so? The rust is up at the front from water having collected there (it was parked with the nose towards the bottom of a hill). I'll check for the metal separators on DC, and car-part for the hood, thank you.

Yep, I'm out in the Monroe/Sultan area.
Had you seen this? Just up North in Marysville. I've thought about it. For the price it is hard to beat the deal.
I need a couple of things for my long bed styleside, too, so if you get it I'll buy some bits off of you if you want to sell them. I can be more specific if it happens.

I had seen that, but wasn't certain that the bed would be the same, so I kind of disregarded it. I'm pretty busy this week and next, but I'll try to get a hold of them and go look at it. If it's in good enough shape I might buy it. Disassembling/merging two beds would be cheaper than building one out of wood.
Seem to recall from similar threads that the 65-66 bed is not available thru Ford part suppliers but later model bed panels are but with a different pattern. I bookmarked 1 or 2 post where members posted pix where they replaced the bed w/ either a solid rolled steer, or the diamond plate steel bed. If decide to go that route I can post the links.
