Its a new month, so a new chat thread. Weather is finally cooling off down on the coast and business is pretty good at the shop. Ya'll have a good month.
Glad to hear it's getting cooler on the coast, still warm in N Georgia. Back from vacation, and ready to get back to the shop to continue work on the 66.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was off Saturday,so the wife and I took the grandkids to the Rodeo in Screven. Get to the this morning, customer drops off his "new" toy, 1983 Jeep J-10. His words "PLEASE" fix the 4wd. After a little talking to him I find out that the original owner never used 4-wheel drive. Wish me luck.
My son, Riley just added a 1989 F-150 4x4 to the family. Has the 300-6 cylinder & I believe the T-18 trans. Will post pics when he brings it by the shop. Where is everybody? Not many post this month.
Been a busy week at the shop. Broke the owner of the J-10 heart today when i gave him the estimate to repair the 4wd, around 3K. Needs a new transfer case. Heres a photo of my son's new truck. Needs some minor TLC, but its something he can work on and learn. Where is everybody? Getting kind of lonely
Hey Guys!!
What an exciting month so far. I came home on leave and we bought a beautiful house in Cave Spring GA. Spent all my R&R time moving the family into the new house. I put the 79 on a flat bed behind the UHAUL to get it to the new place. We love everything about the house and the new area. You never know how much stuff you really have till you move. I just got back to my unit today so the jet lag is really kicking in. I never sleep good while in transit anyway. Hope everyone is well and talk to you soon.
A big welcome to new members-mikerogers56 and Chris79F350 !!!
Hey everyone,
The jet lag is still kinda kicking my butt. I am sleepy all day till it's time to go to sleep then I just lay there for a while. Sleep aids help but it will just take time. I found a guy on Craigslist not far from the new homestead that has some of the parts I am looking for. Figures I'd fine him AFTER I get back over here. Days are a lot shorter and it is a lot cooler than when I left. There are small amounts of snow on the higher mountain tops. I hate winter, especially here.
I was wanting to put on a new carb and replace the brakes on the truck while I was home but that didn't happen, I just ran out of time so it will have to wait for a while.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Southern-Love the sons new to him truck, does not look bad at all.
