Hurry up! You've got more work to do on your truck.
Haha I know! I ordered new upper ball joints so I should be able to do those right when I get home. Sucks I had to destroy the old camber eccentrics and it destroyed the old ball joints in the process (and my nose) Then I gotta do the alignment!
It is a 5.0 auto. Just shy of 95k miles. Haven't had a chance to really crawl under it and look closely to determine the transmission. I'm hoping it's not an aod, but wouldn't be the end of the world.
Kyle, the truck needs the two in tank fuel pumps, and brake line repair. The rear tank for sure needs the pump replaced. You can hear it struggling and pulsing. The front tank pump pegs the needle full on the gauge. From what the guy was saying, it is an issue with the sending unit. I haven't looked into that at all in terms of research, but I figure if I am getting into the fuel system, I may as well just replace both sending units and pumps at the same time. He already replaced the tank selector switch, and the fuel tank selector valve. I guess I should say that that is what seems to be the issue. It has a fuel problem, and likes to stall if you drive it...apparently, as I have not attempted driving it more than just on and off the trailer. In the same spirit as replacing both pumps, I will likely try to just replace all the brake lines with stainless. It also has a minor exhaust leak that I am not too concerned about, and the typical old ford slow oil leak. I am in a serious debate with myself on whether to get rid of the body lift immediately, or wait til I decide what kind of lift I will do. I am looking into the SAS with a 4" suspension. The body lift WILL come off when the suspension lift is done, so I just don't know if I want to just get rid of it now since I will likely be taking the bed off for the fuel pumps. Wow that got long winded quick. Oh...plus side...A/C works! And heat too!
Don't bother with the stainless brake lines, there is a new copper alloy brake line that doesn't rust and is easy to bend and flare. The pump/sending unit is basically one piece. While you can replace the pump separately, typically when you order it from the parts store they come as one piece. Miles is there a Auto Zone or the like up near the mall in Manchester.
I need so gear oil and when I bring my son to Halls tomorrow I would like to grab it.
Thanks.
I am in a serious debate with myself on whether to get rid of the body lift immediately,
Are you sure it has a body lift??? It certainly looks stock in the pics, besides the front and rear bumper are in their proper locations which is usually a good indicator for gap. Also look at the gap between the bed and the frame in the rear wheel wells

Positive it has the body lift. I purposefully left out the rear end picture because the gap is painfully obvious. The rear bumper relocation bracket hasn't been easy to find, so I'm assuming that's why they did the front and not the rear.

I'm not Miles, but Napa, Advance, and AutoZone are near the center of Manchester on Broad St. It's a good 5-10 minutes from the mall.
