Looking at a 1994 Ford Explorer Limited. It isn't 4wd, but it does have the 4.0 V6 and auto, with AC, haven't called the guy yet as it is in Sanger, and I need to line up some transportation out there. Price is good, but that is because it is a Washington state vehicle with expired tags. 1994 Ford Explorer
Can't put ATV's in the back though, so I would have to buy a trailer (again) and tow them, which I really don't want to do. However, it would give me a daily driver that gets double the MPG of the F350. Going to post the link in the Explorer forum for their thoughts.
That is interesting, I just called the guy and made an appointment to go see it tomorrow after church. I wanted to see it today, but he said tomorrow would be better.
I called him just now, after checking the link, and he said it has already sold. I knew that price was too good. Should have called him yesterday.
They all look good, however, the Reno one is not possible since it has a manual transmission. I like the fact that it has Rancho shocks, and new suspension. It also has the best price, the second one would be great, but $2,000 is more than I can spend at the moment. Same with the last one. Would love to have that one, and it is the closest to me. Maybe when the SSDI is approved, and I get the retroactive check I can allocate more money to buy a Ranger in better shape.
I have found that it is better to save a little longer and get one in better shape, or you end up putting more than the difference into repairs later anyway. That's my experience anyhow. If you buy a beater you will end up fixing what the past owner failed to fix.
So true, and with my current health issues, there is not much I can do in repairs to a vehicle these days. Maybe I will get lucky and one of the two will still be available when I get my check. Or, maybe, God willing, there will be a better one closer to home.
We were in Coalinga yesterday for a couple of hours.
Never been there before.
Most likely will never go there again.
Not much there.
Report finished. That is all.

LOL, my best friend was born in Coalinga. I imagine it hasn't changed much in the past 43 years since then.
Side story- his grandma still lives in the house she's lived in since she was 17. I think she's about 97 now! She still shoot coyotes, rattlesnakes, and even her own cats if they cause her to trip. Tough old gal.
We took the truck and went back to the old family farm in upstate Minnesota for five weeks this summer. It was to enable my 99-year-old mother to spend the time there for the summer, and not be alone. We relieved my sister and B-I-L, who had been there a couple of months with her already. (Another brother relieved us for a couple weeks, and then brought her back on the airlines).
We found out that she had gone down to the county seat in late June to their DMV and renewed her driver's license. It now expires on her 103rd birthday!
She keeps a car there, as well as one in her Van Nuys garage (which she DOESN'T drive), but she still occasionally drives the one back there just to stay in practice.
She hasn't shot anything in fifty years or more, and no longer has any guns, thank goodness!
My sister has the community hall already reserved for next year's wing-ding for her hundredth!
